The booster was very easy to install and sounds great.

It needs more rca connector
Run CD player a little power
I would. Buy a other one

Purchased the mini booster to use with some Orb speakers and sub that I bought years ago. Hadn’t used the Orbs in quite some time. I was amazed at the sound that this amp put out. I have a Samsung soundbar with sub and the Orb setup sounds so much more crisp and clean. Would highly recommend
David S.
I just upgraded my stock trading desk to 2, 34" wide screen monitors & needed a little "kick" in the sound. I had 4 speakers & Super 8 sub so I thought to give the mini Amp a try. "WOW" pretty much sums it up! Thanks Orb Audio!

The dialouge button is a must for me. Those little speakers can put out some amazing sound.

This company is without a doubt the most responsible I have ever come across.
After about 6 years of using the Orb Booster I experienced a problem with resetting the sound after a power outage. After contacting Gary Pelled, the design engineer and one of the owners of the product, he wrote:
"Hi Tom,
I was going to ship a power supply but decided to swap the amp and the power supply and see what your amp is doing. If it doesn't work for me you get a new amp and new style remote for the cost of UPS :)
If it turns out to be the power supply I will sell your amp cheap to friends and family :)
Peace,
Gary

All the information I got from the company was spot on and having bought junk in the past, it was a pleasure to feel that I had gotten real value for my money. The only criticism is that there really needs to be a more in depth discussion on what and how the controls on the front of the amp interact with the inputs on the back. For me the learning curve wasn't really intuitive when dealing with a sub, an amp, and a sound input from an iMac. Anyway, I'm very happy with the speakers and the amp.

I used to have a stereo involved with speakers and the TV. But that involved too many remote controls and in today’s world there is no need for the stereo. So I was looking for a solution for the poor sound from my TV, as we often couldn’t hear the words. So I looked at sound bars but knew the sound from those little speakers in the sound bar would not be nearly as good as my stereo speakers. Also I didn’t want to spend a thousand dollars and then throw my speakers away. So I remembered that some years ago I had purchased a subwoofer from orb audio. So I looked at the Orb website and found just what I needed in this device. Perfect to connect my speakers to TV. It was very easy and gives me beautiful sound and voice clarity. I love it.

It took every bit of 20 minutes to hook it up because I had to route the wires by myself. It's wonderful and I absolutely love it!! My old one, without the remote, was great but now I don't have to get up and change the volume! My little speakers allow this old gal to enjoy my TV shows from the couch!
Matthew W.
Sounds superb. Works well hidden away (doesn't even need line of sight for remote - signal bounces off walls). Remote control works well with Google TV remote, which was important. Dialogue boost is very good. Excellent purchase to go with my Orb speakers (and Energy 10" sub), no question.
Dennis E.
The sound quality is great and the speech booster really helps my elderly father understand what is being said.
Bobbi D.
All is great with this little powerhouse of a booster. Plug, play & listen. Real simple. Probably going to invest in a second one. Extremely happy!
Donna C.
Great sound! This is our 2nd set-up with Orb. We use Orb speakers in another set-up and they continue to sound great, so that's why we went with Orb again. This is the first time we have used the mini booster amplifier - so much power and flexibility in such a small package. Awesome job, guys.

Amazing.I traded out a full size receiver for this little box, driving four orb speakers and a woofer. The swap was very easy, the hookups were simple and, while I found I needed to keep the woofer to make the sound full, I toned it down considerably. The box worked from the git go with my (infinity) remote control. One thing I didn’t expect was the voice enhancer which, when I turned it on to see how it worked, totally blew me away. I have hearing issues and my old system made spoken words (football announcers) almost unintelligible. My ability to hear the calls vastly enhances my tv experience and I’m only sorry, really sorry, that I didn’t get one of these sooner. An amazing product.

I purchased my third mini amp to go with some Orb speakers and subwoofer I already had to complete my third Orb system. I use these systems on 3 TVs to produce amazing theater quality sound. My wife loves the fact they do not detract from the decore and sound great. Everyone who hears them wants to know where I got these little speakers that sound like giants! Very happy with Orb Audio products and highly recommend them.
Scott D.
Nice unit, drives my 6 ORB's with no problem. Love the wireless sub connection.

Great components!!! We have the basic ,2 speaker system, mini amp, and sub woofer. IT sounds great! The amp fits easily in its place.
We tell everyone our experience with the Orbs!
Fernando Perez
This is a great product. Great sounding D/A converter, great sounding amplifier, enough power. The subwoofer output is a unique feature. You can't go wrong with this one. Great bang for the buck.

I bought this back in 2015 and after using this for almost 5 years now I finally decided to throw in my review. The whole time I have been using this amp it has performed flawlessly and still sounds just as amazing as day 1, current running it with a pair of Yamaha bookshelf speakers with a 8" Powered Yamaha sub. I ended up mounted it on the underside of my desk, so it doesn't natively mount like that (used a metal bracket from Home Depot + Gorilla Glue). Extremely happy customer!

I'm a long time orb audio customer and have always been happy with them. I bought this little amp for the upstairs TV after the receiver I had died. I wish I had done it sooner. This amp sounds great with my Orb speakers and sub, fits in small spaces, and uses much less power than the former system. Happy repeat customer and I will continue to buy Orb stuff as long as it is out there.

Smaller than a paperback, it packs a punch! This amp is the smallest I've ever purchased or even seen, and while it's not going to be the heart of an audiophile ultimate system it's a gem. That's it next to the audioengine b1. Small yes, but amazingly full sound. For the price, hooked up to some decent speakers, it's easy to listen to, no digital harshness and goes reasonably loud. No it won't be what you'd use for a dance party but it does give plenty of quality sound for a moderately large room. Bottom line it's a great little amp with much bigger sound than you'd ever think possible.
Fred
Best price for quality product from a great seller!!!!!

Brief review: Fantastic Amp, great quality and sound. Unbelievable USA support. I called Orb support after business hours. Was expecting low level tech support from India or China, instead I got put through to Gary (one of the designers) and talked about the unit I got (we also talked about speakers, the market, design of the unit, tradeoffs etc. a great conversation). This left a fantastic impression from a small company that really cares about the design of its products, its reputation and its customers!

Small amp big sound.... Wont make BS claims - but i have built my own home theater and starting from scratch again so we bought this to hold us over. The signal for your sub is not degraded or molested that i can tell- and it pushes or speakers surprisingly well- i wouldn't but their speakers lol but for little amp the did a great job-- Things to consider- when turning it on a red led light will be on the left, off it will be on the right--silly should have a red one for off and a green or blue or something for on..LED are dirt cheap..Led moves when changing inputs- you dont know which is which until you get sound from source. Its a digital amp- wont use much power at all- dont let its Watts fool you--- most people dont understand them anyway... with the right sensitivity speaker you can push it to reference levels(85DB) with just 1-3 watts, so 50(25L-25R) is more then plenty even with low frqs. so any halfway decent speaker say with 90+ DB you will have more than you can handle. You have to remember speakers are rated by their sensitivity at 1watt at 1meter, so if you have 90DB speaker it will play at 90DB with 1watt, Low FRQ(BASS) sucks up watts but you have plenty on tap and average speaker wont be able to play low enough to eat them up anyway. ALSO for the new people out there- if your speaker says 100watts is its max handling or lot times they will say peak which its then a lot lower-- Speakers dont use its rated power continuously- it ranges with frequency and volume- we are using this with 93DB 10-400watt speakers and they scream-- Your ears and system will die long before you can even consider going near a average speakers RMS- and most of the time before that your speakers will die because to much distortion- on average your only using a few watts of power even at massive volumes- Our theater we had we powered a 9.1 Auro-3D setup at 85+ DB and it only took a few watts. Anyway long rant over- good amp clean crisp sound- Dialogue booster is not to shabby would have lowered range down a bit more make it more full-

Got a new Samsung TV and then found out it didn't have analog audio out, only digital which didn't work with my amp . Bought an Orb Audio Booster. Works great. Sound perfect. Small in size. No need for the other amp because speakers connect directly to it. Easy to program my Xfinity remote to control the volume. Best of all, when it quit working on a Saturday morning because of something I did, customer service called me within minutes and had it going again.

This is a really wonderful little amp. I purchased it to power my a soundbar I bought from England, sub-woofer and I also hooked up my Echo plus. Everything works great. The voice boost is really nice for some of the movies you wonder who did the sound? Using the optical with the TV don't forget to take the plastic caps off. Well worth the price easy to set up and just enjoy. A very well engineered piece of sound equipment. Great US based customer service.

Easy to hook up and set up. Provides good power to the speakers. The voice enhancement is very good. Too many shows on TV are trying to be dark and mysterious and forget that people need to understand the dialogue. The voice enhancement provided by the amp is helpful.

Completely as described. Would Use again.

Really very small and it works! Tried to use with Yamaha small speakers, after that for small test connected this one to floor stands Bic America 64 speakers. Also it works :). High and mediums is good, basses is ok
Sina S
Very convenient inputs, and outputs. Paired this with Dayton Audio SAT-BK satellite speakers, and Dayton Audio 1000L 10" subwoofer. The sound is amazingly crisp for an ordinary user like me that uses it for movies and music streaming. The remote has a good range of atleast 20 feet. I use the voice mode for podcasts and even that sounds very crisp and clear.
Joe
So far so good. Im always skeptical with new products and I hate to use my customers as guinea pigs. Have it connected via optical from a TV in a home gym and it powers two 8" in-ceiling speakers adequately for the space.
Rob G
This tiny gizmo is awesome. Simple, fairly powerful and has a very small footprint compared to my old stereo receiver. I have the TV, google home, Apple TV and a blue ray all playing through it.
G. Picklesimer
Great little amp! I bought it to drive four in-ceiling speakers from a Sonos Connect. Good looking, small (sits right on top of the Sonos box), matches the Sonos well (both white), and delivers plenty of sound with little distortion. My only complaint is that the row of status LEDs aren't labeled and what they're meant to indicate is not clear. -- that's not enough to knock off a star, though, for a pretty awesome mini amp.
Kyle
Absolutely love this amp, it was the only mini amp that had all of the I/O that I needed and great sound quality. I am using it in my bedroom for a couple of in-wall speakers. I needed something this size to fit in our new wall mounted Ikea cabinet and this thing is perfect!! love the way it sounds, I replaced an older Marantz with it and the sound quality is just as good. Also, had a question and got one of the engineers on the phone on a Sunday!!!! super impressed, thanks Orb!

There aren't enough stars to recommend this item. I needed a second stereo amplifier for my home office and since I spend more time in my office, than otherwise at "home", I wanted a good amp.. This could have been tricky because of my primary stereo. While I have two home theater systems I have a separate stereo (no TV) in my formal living room. This system has two six foot tall planar loudspeakers which gobble power. It needs a $1,000+- preamplifier/power-amplifier to handle it properly. Once you hear the kind of clarity and "breathing room" that this price range of amplifier can produce you get spoiled. Fortunately, I had bought a powered subwoofer from this same company (for the office system) and it was a terrific, positive, surprise. I talked to the designer of this amplifier - Orb is really a great company to work with which provides all kinds of personal interaction -and decided it might fit the bill for my office. So now you understand the lead line of my review. Most amplifier-speaker systems only really need to use a watt or two and so this "low" powered amp has pleanty of power, and headroom, for a typical setup. For example, own one album which was recorded directly in a "one-shot" deal with a band - there could be no redos. Obviously, the engineer was taking no chances and recorded the album at a minimum volume in case the sound dynamic went a bit wild. This amplifier plays my office's speakers with the full dynamic range and I can't even turn the amp all the way up (without the sound potentially getting dangerously loud at well over 90 decibels) in my 11' by 15' by 8' ceiling office set-up. The apparent breadth of this amplifier totally belies it physical size - which is beyond cleaver and useful - and power rating. I repeat, its headroom (the ability to play loudly at musical peaks), warmth without coloration, and clarity are all superb. In other words: I LOVE it. You will, too.

This is really nice little amp. Sounds good.
B Farris
well built.. great customer service. They even called me back to help me set up the remote.. Simple but works..
Javi
Produces quite the sound. I have it connected to two orb audio speakers and a baby 8 inch sub, and it sounds better than any sound bar I've come across.

This is a great small amplifier with many useful features. I use it for outdoor speakers and outdoor movie watching with speakers, but it would be perfect for a small home stereo sound system as well: Two speakers, a few cables, a smart phone or mp3 player, or even a CD/blu ray player with optical out, and you have a really nice system. It seems very well made, has a variety of inputs, and even has a subwoofer output. It is plenty powerful to drive my Polk bookshelf or Polk Atrium 6 speakers to loud levels with nice articulate sound. I use banana plugs to make speaker wire connections a snap for quick hookups.. The remote works well. I phoned Orb tech support in NYC for a question and received excellent help quickly. Very happy with this item.

Recently had some of the circuitry go out on the subwoofer of my Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 setup and needed a new amp. I decided 2.1 was fine, but needed a sub out, which proved hard to find. After months of looking for the right product, I decided to give the Orb Booster a shot. I opted for this one over the 30W version because of the optical input. I can't believe how incredible the same speakers sound now. I'm hearing all kinds of little details I've never noticed before from my music. Every instrument sounds so clean and distinct. I couldn't be happier with the sound. Build quality seems nice and solid and everything is as advertised. There was an odd hiccup when the booster was first plugged in where it didn't want to switch inputs for some reason, but everything has been stellar since. The machine I have this on is primarily used for gaming, but now I want to go and get more of my music imported so I can use it for that too. If I have need for any other audio components anytime soon, Orb will be the first place I check.
David
Drives a pair of large 6" speakers from my computer to decent levels. Sounds great. Super small.

Great amp. Good power without distortion. My only complaint is the LED lights indicating if the unit is receiving an inputs signal it are very hard to diofferentiate from each other. I also did not like the fact that the On-Off light is difficult to differentiate from other LEDs. Other that that it is a great unit.
S
High quality for the price. It allows fine control with plenty of power for the size.
Jeromulus
Great sound & compact in size. I paired it with some Jbl bookshelf speakers.

When I upgraded to a modern HD TV, it didn't come with an amplifier for attaching speakers. I could have resurrected a large amp I had in storage, but I wanted something small and with an IR control so I could use it with a Harmony Hub and a smartphone. I attached this amp via the optical link to a Sony XBR55X810C TV's optical output. I then hooked up some floor standing Klipsch Symphony SF-3 (100 watt, 8 ohm) speakers to it. I also attached a Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofer to the subwoofer out jack on the Orb and eliminated a lot of extra wiring that I had originally, using the PSW10 as a speaker-in-the-middle. I used a stereo-to-mono Y cable to go from the Orb's mono output RCA connector to the back of the PSW10 and turned the Low Pass filter clockwise to create an LFE input. I control the Orb's volume with a Logitech Harmony hub. Using the Orb's IR remote, I taught the Harmony hub that this device was actually the Sony XBR55X810C's volume control and can now control the volume of the orb from my iPhone. The sound quality is great! It's an amazingly powerful amp for the size and price and can easily fill a large room with plenty of crisp sound and boomy base!
Fat Panda
I bought this receiver because it has optical input and sub out which can drive my spare definitive speakers. The sound jus as good as my large receiver and it fits nice under my computer monitors. I highly recommended to pair with Bluetooth that has optical out such as Bose Bluetooth adapter. Super clear sound with no static noise interference when using optical input.

Bottom line - This is a great little product. I bought this amp to drive a pair of satellite speakers in another room from main AV receiver setup. My application is to independently run these speakers from my main setup but regardless of your input; AV receiver, plasma TV, other amp, etc., it is a very elegant, compact, and high-quality solution. First, the sound quality at this price point and size is exceptional. I am driving a pair of mid-range ceiling mount speakers but even then, the sound is full, clear, with absolute clarity between ranges. Bass is clear and crisp and at high volumes and there is very little distortion. Second, there are an impressive number of features embedded in this little guy. It is geared toward a TOSLINK cable input but there are also two 3.5mm TRS inputs. On the output side, there is also an RCA jack to directly connect a sub-woofer if you setup requires it. It also has a "dialogue boost" feature which I have not tried but for those connecting to a TV to address the soundbar problem of overwhelming special effects in the background drowning out the dialogue, bet this might be very good. On the input side, it has an IR control feature with an included remote. The IR feature is a HUGE advantage over buying stuff with just control knobs. I messed around with my Logitech Harmony and added it as a device to integrate it into my overall setup. Might have just been me as Orb Audio was recognized under the devices but I had to spend a little time "learning" my remote but nonetheless, easy enough to control the Orb under my Harmony remotes. Truth in disclosure, there is the "as designed property" that the volume reverts to default every time the device is restarted required me to adapt but overall, not a big deal. And finally, Orb Audio is surprisingly an old-fashioned made in the USA small company. When I had my questions about the volume, I had an incredibly thorough and coherent conversation with them about the issue. If nothing else (POLITICS ASIDE), show a little love for home grown and if you need something these guys make, it is really good stuff...

This is a great little amp.

I just purchased the Orb Audio Booster for our television audio system and am very impressed with the size and sound quality. At about 4 inches by 4 inches, the booster delivers audio that compares more than favorably with the traditional amplifier. My husband had some issues setting it up and called Orb's 800 number. He spoke with one of the designers of the product. The designer was incredibly helpful and asked a lot of detailed questions regarding our existing system. He cross checked the specifications that my husband gave him and then within minutes our tv audio was set up. I am now a very happy camper. We now have audio and it sounds amazing. Thanks Orb, we are so thrilled with your product and your amazing customer service!

I got this to clean up the TV setup in my living room. I have a pair of Bose 301's and really didn't want to replace them with a sound bar. Since the TV only has a cable box and a Fire Stick, there was only 1 true source of audio. I have a TOS cable running from the TV to the amp which then drives the Bose. All works great and sounds pretty sweet. And now it was way less clutter.

I have in my bathroom I 24" monitor with with the JBL XS Cinema 2.1 set up and that thing rocks and is one of my Favorite PC / real Desktop systems. Hahaha! That's until I matched the Booster to my sons Tv via "Optical Audio out" and added the latest Orbs speaker and connected the 8" sub. I grabbed my ph and connected it with a high quality stereo cable like at Blujeanscables.com. I'm a bit of a A/V Freak and streamed Tidal for so HiFi Audio. If y'all want to know what MUSIC REALLY SOUND LIKE? HOLLY COW! At 3am while my son was sleeping on the coach I had Sonic Nirvana!! Guess who came in his Room, and asked it I could turn it off, bc I was moving furniture, yep his very own, MY Man, My son!! Ha the Irony of that! But he's since not turned it off!!! So that's good! Get ready folks, This isn't SnAKE OIL! The sound stage is HUGE , LOUD, Crstyal Clear and and warm, while matched perfectly with any 8" sub at about 150 watts. I'd suggest the Pioneer Andrew Jones 8" sub if for under 150$. Nice, Airy, open Sound stage no matter where u stein the room. Warm!! I just ordered one for my bathroom to replace the JBL ( mentioned earlier) will do b4 and helped.
