This is a great speaker system. I mounted the Orbs on my ceiling. It took a few days to tune the system levels and adjust speaker directionality, but now the sound quality is excellent. Support from the Orb team also has been great. I recommend for anyone trying to get super sound quality from a small form factor.

Just wanted to share that I have really enjoyed my Orb speakers. I have cobbled two mod 2 fronts and mod 1 for my surround. I have these paired with an Onkyo rz810 and Polk center and two Polk atmos. The soundstage is head turning and the clarity allows the listener to hear the imperfections in the music. I cannot afford to be an audiophile but this set up makes me feel like I have slipped into the back door of the exclusive club. Thank you all for making great stuff that sounds amazing. Matt

Incredibly smooth sound. A seamless crossover to the sub with a full and natural audio experience. With our old system (Definitive Technology), we would suffer a sort of sound fatigue when we listened to the surround sound for too long. Not with these Orb's... we can watch movies all day!

Great modular system. With a solid receiver these small speakers pack a punch. I also love the ability to add or more speakers as needed. They are small and look great, also very easily concealable. Great company and ownership. Plus I love supporting American companies!

Very pleased. All told, I found the Orb Audio surround speakers easy to assemble and a pleasure to listen to. I did find that the rather smallish supplied subwoofer did not put out the sound like my own system does, so did not really need it, but otherwise AOK. Thanks for the fast delivery too!

I have owned this system for some time now and friends and family always ask about the speakers after hearing it. Finally I have taken advantage of the ability to add additional speakers to the system as I was able making my home entertainment system truly a custom system. Amazing spekaers – amazing company. This Orb 5.1 setup is my first real speaker system, and I couldn't be happier! My home theater area isn't especially large, and I was having trouble finding a high-quality system that would fit the space instead of overwhelm it. After reading lots of rave reviews about Orb, I took the plunge and it paid off handsomly. You can tell the speakers are high quality from the moment you unbox them, they're heavier than you'd guess from their small size. Right off the bat, I was amazed at the big sound coming out of those little spheres. The sound is amazingly crisp, clear, and well separated. There's a particular song (1940 by the Submarines - AmpLive Remix) that features a great xylophone part, and closing my eyes I could almost see the individual keys being hit. Vocals sound like the singer is right in the room with you! I've been spending a lot of time rediscovering some favorite songs of mine, as these speakers add new life and new dimension to music I've heard countless times.

Extra Ordinary!! Can't speak too highly of the company or their products. After seven years of use the subwoofer (not this model) ampifier went bad as I had inadvertently switched it to always on (vs auto). Even though the model was no longer offered, Orb searched their warehouse and found a replacement amplifier and sold it to me at cost. Customer service provided simple instructions and I was able to easily swapped the two out. Try that with any name brand consumer electronics! My only concern for this offering is its size. If you want truly cinematic sound in a larger room you might want to purchase one of their bigger systems.

Bought from ORB Audio several years past and have nothing but praise and satisfaction to say. It is a very hands on and personal small business model that will relate to you as a person, not just another order. An example, I just lost a cord for my woof and called the people at Orb Audio to see if they still had the part available. Customer service immediately sent a replacement at their expense, no question and they asked if I would send a pic of my speaker arrangement to suggest a better set-up. I did and their ideas were right on. The maker/ user relationship is alive and well with the ORB. Aesthetics and function, not anonymity but real concern and user relationship is actual. Oh yeah, the speakers are outstanding for sound quality and the size allows for discreet placement. Do you really want those trunk size speakers taking up precious real estate and bursting local noise codes? Price, Quality, American and Real value. Just pull the trigger, no reason not to, do it

Let me start by saying; THESE SPEAKERS ARE AWESOME!!!! I have always been enamored by the Bose surround system, but was not willing to spend that kind of money. I found your speakers on Amazon and was immediately intrigued. I spent the better part of a month doing my homework on Orb Audio. The reviews and specs convinced me to buy them. I ordered the 5.1 system. They arrived on a Wednesday afternoon. I put them in the places where I had my clumsy Cerwin Vega speakers and turned on the the stereo. (I have a Denon 5.2 receiver). I was instantly blown away!!! I had finally achieved the sound I was searching for at an incredibly reasonable price. Soooo much sound from such little orbs!! That Saturday, much to my son's dismay, he and I were in the attic running speaker wire so I could mount the rears in the ceiling and the fronts in the wall next to the tv. (I live in SW Florida, so as you can imagine the heat was hell-like). Whenever I have people over to my house they are intially taken aback by black balls hanging from my ceiling, but once they hear the quality of the music and surround sound, they become instant fans! If you are looking for high-quality speakers which won't break the bank, shop no further the Orb!!

Five stars... very good design and sound

I bought this system (with an older generation subwoofer) back in 2012. At the time, I had done hours and hours of research, and live in Europe so it was a bit of a gamble to buy a sound system I couldn't hear (as opposed to those big names everywhere). I was so impressed that I bought a 2.1 set for my brother with their mini amplifier. My sub finally gave up on me, and in less than 10 minutes a support officer from Orb Audio troubleshooter my issue and decided to cover it even out of warranty! Probably an exceptional case as I am all the way in Europe and shipping the sub three ways would cost a fortune... So not only is my late review talking about the product itself, but also the excellent customer service they offer! One advice I have is to protect this prestigious system, I have the entire setup plugged into a battery UPS to avoid electric noise and power outages from damaging the system (learned from my setup prior to Orb).

Coupled with a Denon AV receiver these discreet Orb speakers sound detailed and very transparent. They handle all the high and mid-levels with ease, while the subwoofer has more than enough oomph to give those low levels so necessary for watching an action movie. If you are looking for an unobtrusive 5.1 set-up then these speakers should be your first choice, they are great value and produce excellent sound. I'd also like to add that Orb Audio's customer service was brilliant too, the hallmark of a company that understands the importance of customer service and satisfaction. So a strong recommendation for the product and the company.

Been buying Orb products for several years, and I've never been disappointed. The sounds quality is fantastic. Their customer service is awesome. Definitely recommend this system.

Very well made - cool design and the added benefit of being a multi-voltage subwoofer - meaning it can be used in other countries because it's compatible with the power supply. Great value too for the quality of speaker. I chose white to suit my decor - but I love the other finishes too - particularly the copper effect - very cool! I would recommend this product for sure.

Nice sound - not cheap (but what is these days) and it does sound nice. I compared it to the Holosonics’ Audio Spotlight speaker and it proved better sound with a little tweaking.

For my dad in his bedroom. He thinks they are great. Whenever someone comes over he makes them go into his bedroom to listen to his 'system'. I'm no audiophile but they do sound nice.

These speakers are amazing. They sound so good. I was considering bose but I am so glad I went with these instead. I also think their round shape is more pleasing to the eye than boxy bose surround speakers. They also hook up with no special connections. They have a spring loaded prong which holds each speaker wire in place. I ended up ordering an additional center channel speaker and a separate single orb from orb directly. I now have a 7.1 system powered by an onkyo tx-nr646. Best system I have ever owned hands down.

Best small speakers I’ve seen / heard. My buddy recommended them to me. The are made in USA and the quality shows! These work way better than the bose I was looking at. These spheres blew my mind at the quality and absolutely no distortion. After year of owning them, I am completely satisfied. What's cool about these is that you can keep adding more speaker by speaker. Tip: When you set these up with your receiver I recommend setting them up as "small" size speakers. I called support a couple of times with questions and they always responded quickly and were very nice. The USA quality really comes to play here. My buddy had an issue with one of his speakers and they sent him out a replacement without any additional information. They really care about their products. I couldn't be more happier with these.

Inorder to sell a perfectly good 56" Sony LCD TV and buy a 64" plasma 3d TV I agreed to remove a big bad boy surround system and live with the sound bar of my choice. My wife of 47 yrs always hated all those big speakers and the wires that went with them. I have really missed the strong SS experience and when I saw the ORB's and read the reviews both on Amazon and on line by various audio experts I talked my bride into letting me get a set. I never gave up my 12" top of the line sub as it matched my media cabinet in over all size and color so the little lady let it slide. After getting the system (which was beautifully packed and triple boxed!) I quickly set it up and using my newly purchased Marantz SV receivers auto set up feature with room equalization had this marvel of design and technology up and running in short order. I was stunned ! How in the world all this increditable sound comes out of these small speakers and a "8" mini subwoofer its increditable. No matter were I sit in the room the sound field is always strongly presented. The dialoge from the center speaker is as clear as anything I have ever owned or heard. My son in law has a 100" home theater system built into his house and his subwoofer cost more then the entire ORB 5.1 system and its amazing how well this system compares over all. To be fair does this little ORB system match the overall impact of his system? Of course not,but it is amazingly close to my 74 yr old ears. Keep in mind this is in my living room versus a acoustically designed and built in home theater. The Subwoofer in a AB test against my 12" high dollar sub did not embarrass its self and frankly for the size and money spent put the 12" high dollar sub to shame. Only at the most extreme levels of bass extension which is seldom reached did it finally come up a bit lacking. It's ability to play at very loud levels without noticeable distortion is nothing short of amazing. One very important fact. Subwoofer placement in my case was pretty critical so if you experience a lack of bass be sure to read up on proper sub placement and start moving sub around until you find the sweet spot. In my case it made a noticeable difference in low bass extension. I am going to up grade my 5.1 to a 8.1 by adding 3 more ORB's to see what improvements it might make. ORB will sell you individual speakers to expand your existing 5..1. I will up date my review with the results. If this system performs as well in your home as it does in mine you need to get a set today you will not be disapointed. Best of all if it comes up a little short for your taste and environment you can upgrade speakers and even the sub until your happy. What other company offers that flexability along with a 30 day satisfaction or your money back return policy on their speaker systems? I don't know of any,best of all it is American designed and manufactured.

Beats a Bose hands down. We've had this very set up for four years now and couldn't be happier. Moving from our old house, we let the Bose system convey. So when it came time for a replacement, went to the audio store for another Bose. Guy says can I talk you out of that? We needed a two zone system (outdoor speakers on the patio, 5.1 in tye family room. Wife's only demand was that it be as inconspicuous as the Bose. Looked at a lot of reviews and bought this system and a Denon receiver. All in cost was about 1/2 of the Bose I was considering, and we have a MUCH better solution.

The system sound is excellent for the price. Even with the smaller Sub. I don't need my walls shaking, I just need nice clear base. This delivers clear sound and a clear base. Recommended.

This speakers system is awesome. I was considering the Bose system but read the reviews and one person mentioned that he was consider this system over the Bose. So I read the reviews and the Orb Mini 5.1 and was impressed and took a chance. I was not disappointed. I have this system hooked to a Yamaha RX-V577 and don't regret taking the chance. Can't wait till the system gets broken in to see how it really sounds. I believe in reading reviews and being informed about a product, and this one is well worth the money twice over.

I did a LOT of research before buying and this is one of the best audio purchases I have made, and one of the few products I felt strongly enough about to write a review. Sound: 5 Stars, Appearance: 5 Stars, Customer Service: 5 Stars. I have quite a large room, roughly 15 x 18 with a high cathedral ceiling. I expanded the center channel (you can expand their system as needed) with an additional "Orb" which worked out perfectly. Coupled with a Denon receiver, it is the clearest most vibrant sound I have had in a home theater arrangement (and I've spent a lot more $$$ on other "name brands" in the past). Orb speakers are significantly better quality than other small speakers I've owned. Very cutting edge stuff...quality materials and a superb warranty. You can definitely spend more...and get less. I emailed these guys a few times and always got a quick response, and they know what they are doing. No random customer service folks who don't know their products. Do yourself a favor and take a good hard look at their stuff, they have something that would fit anyone's audio needs!

The Orb Mini 5.1 Home Theater Speaker System offers plenty of sound in spite of its very compact size. Taking into account the speakers small size and the fact that they can be easily mounted on a wall or ceiling with Orb's accessory wall mount, you can find a home for the 5.1 system anywhere, even a bedroom. Listening to music and watching movies with these speakers, I'm constantly impressed. I recommend the Orb Mini 5.1 Home Theater Speaker System for those who are short on space or want their home theater speakers to go unnoticed yet still have a high standard for sound quality.
